By combining its craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology Meopta has developed a new generation line of  riflescopes. Material for the fabrication of tubes of these riflescopes is one of the best quality aluminium alloys which allows to fit the tube surface with black anodization (the so-called elox). The Meostar riflescopes are made of the highest-grade aircraft aluminum alloy with outer surfaces beadblasted and anodized in black matte finish to reduce reflection. The improved MB-5501 antireflective coatings result in light transmission exceeding 94%. Designed for low light, dawn or dusk conditions, both Meostar RD & KDot models offer an optional illuminated reticle center with variable intensity levels from 1-7 (7 being the brightest) as well as an off position between each level to ensure fast on and off operation.
